You must be a reasonably good swimmer.
-
Personal floating device (PFD) is supplied by us, it must always
be worn when you use the kayak. This is a strict rule, no exceptions
allowed.

A general route plan must be filed with Orust Kajak. In return we
gladly give good advice and hints concerning suitable and enjoyable
routes.

Delays must be reported to us as soon as possible.

We reserves for ourselves the right to refuse rental to people behaving
in such manner we find them to be unsuitable for kayak paddling. In
severe cases, for example illegal actions or failure to wear the PFD
at sea, we have the right to reclaim rented equipment even during
the rental period. In such cases there will be no refunds.
Booking
and payment
- A booking
is binding (see below for cancellation terms), we do not accept
preliminary bookings.
- You can book
by e-mail, telephone, fax, letter or personal visit (see
our address page for the information you need). When you have
made your booking, you receive a booking confirmation, which
also is the bill for the rent. We send the confirmation by e-mail
(PDF-file) when possible, otherwise by ordinary mail.
- If the first
rental day is 7 days or less ahead, the boking fee must be paid
immediately, the same day as you receive the confirmation. The
booking fee, which is specified in the confirmation, is usually 50%
of the total fee, exceptions see next paragraph.
- If the first
rental day is 7 days or less ahead, the total rental fee will
be requested to validate the booking. The same applies if the total
fee does no exceed 700 SEK.
- When booking
0-2 days before the first rental day, payment skall be done
by credit card, cash on site or by transfer to our bank account (which
will be notified to you when needed).
- If the booking
fee is not paid as we have requested, we may regard the booking as
not valid.
- The remaining
fee shall be paid, at the latest, on the first rental day. If
you pay by bank giro service, always quote the booking number.
You can also pay cash or credit card when directly to us when you
pick up the equipment.
Cancellation

A booking can be cancelled, but we always charge a fee. The size
of the fee depends on the remaining time to the first rental day.
- If you cancel
more than 30 days before the first rental day, we charge only
a minor fee of 100 SEK per booking. The rest you have paid
will be refunded. This is valid for private bookings only.
- If you cancel
8-30 days before the first rental day, we refund 50% of the
booking fee, i.e. we keep what is normally 25% of the total
fee.This is valid for private bookings only.
- If you cancel
3-7 days before the first rental day, we will not refund the
booking fee. i.e. we keep what is normally 50% of the total
fee. If you have paid the whole fee, we refund 50%.
- If you cancel
0-2 days before the first rental day,,
we charge you the full total fee.
Special
rules for companies/organized groups making bookings:
- Cancel
more than 30 days before the first rental day: We charge SEK 100 per
kayak.
- Cancel
13-29 days before the first rental day: We
charge 75% of the total fee.

Cancel 0-12 days before the first rental day:
We
charge 100% of the total fee.
Cancellation
because of strong winds
- If the booking,
because of strong winds, is cancelled by the you and us in consensus,
you can use any fees paid at a later occasion. N.B. it must
be a decision taken by both parties in mutual agreement, at
our station at Stocken, Orust. The weather can not be judged properly
from inside a window or from far away.
Cancellation
insurance
- A Cancellation
Insurance can be obtained. It is activated when the you or a person
in your nearest family become seriously ill or injured, or
if other very seriuos circumstances forces you to cancel. The
fee for the Cancellation Insurance is 150 SEK per person, 75 SEK for
those under 16 years old, 75 SEK per person in groups larger than
4 persons.
- To be valid,
the Cancellation Insurance must be ordered when the booking is
made.
- The Cancellation
Insurance, when activated, gives the customer refund of all fees
paid, except the insurance fee itself.
- If you want
to activate the Cancellation Insurance, you must verify your situation
with appliable documents. If your fail to present proper documentation,
the insurance is not activated.
Responsibility

To use a kayak is, from a legal point of view, the same as using any
other kind of pleasure craft. Therefore, yo do so at your own risk
and are fully responsible for all your actions.

Rented equipment shall be returned in its original condition and number.
If equipment is lost or damaged, you will be held fully responsible.

Our insurances do not protect you. Check your own insurance policies!.

Equipment shall be thoroughly cleaned before it is returned. If it
is not cleaned, we will charge you for the cleaning work, at our normal
hour rate.
Right
of Public Access and rules of conduct
- Swedish traditional
rights (The Right of Public Access) gives us all the possibility to
visit and stay at islands and other land areas, even if they are privately
owned. But certain limitations exist. Read
about the Right of Public Access. Ask our staff if you wish to
know more.
